Personally, I was considering the Spiritmaster, but upon further research, I don't want to risk playing a possibly gimp class again. It just makes everything a struggle, and more stressful than necessary. So, with that in mind, I think I'm going to give the Ranger a shot. Lots of traps and CC, while also being able to kick some serious waffle from far away. Evidently, the Abyss (the big RvR area in AION) is a Ranger's playground, and I like the sound of that. (Not to mention Asmodian Rangers look bad-ass.)
As I said earlier, I'm not completely quitting WAR, but I must admit I'm getting rather excited to finally try out AION next weekend. Now I suppose the only questions I have left to ask are...
- Should I continue Blogging?
- If #1 = Yes, Should I keep Blogging here at (Insert Clever WAR Name) despite the fact that I won't only be playing WAR, and will likely write about AION also?
- If #2 = No, Should I create a General Gaming Blog, or an AION Centric Blog?
It really depends on your niche. It would be pointless to write about Aion on here. If you are only going to be writing about Aion I would just make a whole new Aion blog. It isn't like you are going to get WAR people to read your new blog about Aion most likely anyways so you may as well start from scratch again.
ReplyDeleteAlso if you make a general gaming blog you will have much stiffer competition to get readers, and if all you talk about Aion than it is pretty pointless to have a general gaming.
I would rather make a HUB site for all my different blogs, and keep them all separated.
A lot of people seem to go for a more generic gaming blog. I'd vote for that, I'd still like to read what you have to say about War. Though I am not interested in Aion, I'd still be interested on your view between the two and see how the end game PvPvE turns out.
ReplyDeleteThe downfall is the sites name is most definitely Warhammer related. I've moved over to a more general blogging style, but my name isn't as restrictive (intentional from the start) as yours is, I believe. Honestly, if you want to blog, and continue blogging for a while, go with the general gaming. In time, you'll burn out on Aion, or find it's not what you wanted, and you'll move on to a new game, or go back to an old. As Agent Smith says, "It's inevitable."
ReplyDeleteAs to the Ranger, be careful. It is the most painful leveling experience I have ever had in an MMO. Supposedly, if you can get others to group up with all the time, it can be fun, and not kidney-failure painful, but I haven't experienced that.
Yeah, I've read that also. Evidently Rangers can wtfpwn people in the Abyss though, so I'm willing to work through the crappy leveling if it pays off in the end.
