Now then, today's Random Thought is: What would happen if WAR's ORvR Zones had Population Caps? As always, I'll list the Pros and Cons that come to mind.
Pros:
- Server population balance may not be such a large deal.
- Organization would play a much larger role in combat due to a limited number of expendable forces. (The Zerg may have to break up in order to fully cover the zone)
- Large battles may still occur, but smaller battles would be more frequent. Thus, skill would be a larger factor.
- Players may get locked out of zones where friends or guild-mates are fighting due to population restraints.
- Progression towards opponents Cities could come to a grinding halt if, generally speaking, most fights result in "stalemates" (by this I mean it may be much harder to actually flip a zone through ZD and VPs).
It is a fail. Come play on Dark Crag, and see how much fun it is to do fort pushes with only half your warband, or all the pugs who sit at the zone line waiting to cross when the zone flips when you are out doing all the work., and none of you make it in, and the first push is major failure, and you can never recover from it. Also what is gonna happen when 24 people decide to guard the mailbox in the WC, but you can't get in to turn the tide. You want equal numbers you have this button near your minimap that queues you for scenarios.
